Job Summary
Plan and supervise deployment of fiber optic cable within capillary tubing for through-tubing conveyance in live production and injection wells. Manage reel preparation, fiber termination, and surface connections to interrogation units while executing fusion and mechanical splicing to maintain signal integrity. Conduct pre-job and post-job OTDR testing, configure acquisition parameters for DAS and DTS systems, and monitor real-time data streams to optimize signal quality. Troubleshoot deployment anomalies including fiber breaks and perform root cause analysis, then archive data with proper metadata tagging and handover documentation. Liaise with vendors for technical support and provide input for RFQs and vendor assessments. Requires hands-on proficiency in fiber characterization and interpretation of waterfall plots; minimum 6 years of DFOS operations experience in oilfield services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in petroleum, electrical, optical/photonics engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in oilfield services, specifically in DFOS operations
Desired Qualifications
- IWCF or WELL SHARP Well Control certification preferred
