Job Summary
Operate the directional drill on small horizontal projects while preparing worksites to locate utilities and eliminate hazards. Load, unload, and transport construction materials; hand dig to clear debris for the operator. Fuse and prepare HDPE pipe, assemble fittings, and assist with drilling fluid mixing and general job site clean-up. Train team members on directional drill operation and check clearances based on job requirements. Requires valid driver's license, ability to travel less than five days monthly, and physical stamina for lifting 50 lbs. Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Previous directional drill operating experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience operating a directional drill required
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to travel, minimum required is less than 5 days per month
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. regularly
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Experience installing conduit and fiber optic cables preferred
- Education in Utilities Construction preferred
