Job Summary
The Fetal Care Sonographer plays a crucial role in patient care at CHOC, performing fetal cardiac and obstetrical studies for both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires a minimum of one year of fetal cardiac sonography experience and relevant educational credentials, contributing to the health of the pediatric population in a team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of fetal cardiac sonography experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Perinatal Center
- Vocational/Technical Training in Ultrasonography or Associate Degree or relevant experience and ARDMS-OB/GYN and ARDMS-PE registries
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- Registered or registry eligible by ARDMS (with goal of achieving OB/GYN and FE within one (1) year of hire)
- Ability to set goals and judge results
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience with pulsed and continuous wave doppler flow
- Skills and knowledge of guiding needle placements during generic amniocentesis procedures
- Ability to perform transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound
- Ability to function independently
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years of fetal cardiac sonography experience
- Two (2) or more years of experience in Perinatal Center
- Bilingual
- Fetal Medicine Foundation Certification
- CLEAR – Cervical Length Education and Review
- NT – Nuchal Translucency Certification with NTQR or FMF
- Fetal Echo Certification
Additional Requirements
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Registered or registry eligible by ARDMS
