Job Summary
Festival Producer (Freelance) leads cross-functional teams to plan and execute large-scale, multi-day live events from development through onsite execution, budgeting, and reconciliation. Responsible for budget approval and tracking, vendor invoices, procurement, and contingency planning; supports marketing timelines and cross-promotional efforts; oversees 3rd-party Site and Operations teams; manages project schedules, milestones, and stakeholder communications; tracks risk and drives operational excellence with ROI-focused decisions. Strong leadership, budgeting, permitting, and risk-management skills are essential. Based in Nashville or Los Angeles with a hybrid in-office schedule; remote option available.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience producing large-scale live events or music festivals in a general contractor / project manager capacity
- 5–7 years of management or supervisory experience leading cross-functional production teams
- Strong budget management skills — comfortable owning a multi-million dollar operating budget
- Working knowledge of permitting standards (Special Event, Fire, Health & Safety, Building & Safety, Noise, etc.) and ability to oversee permit procurement timelines
- Exceptional relationship and communication skills — able to align diverse stakeholders from crew to C-suite
- Proficiency with project management and event production tools (Lennd, Google Workspace, or similar)
- Availability to commit to a project from planning through post-event settlement
