Job Summary
Conduct spiritual/emotional assessments and develop care plans for patients, families, and staff during emergencies, crises, and moral distress situations. Provide pastoral care, lead, and train in assigned areas through shift rotations while collaborating with key stakeholders in clinical settings. Prepare materials required for board certification and participate in self-directed and group learning processes to develop specialized competence in healthcare ministry. Requires ordination, a Master's degree, and successful completion of a Clinical Pastoral Education Residency.
Required Qualifications
- Ordination or equivalent
- Affiliation in a religious/faith community
- Quality patient care skills
- Communication skills
- Crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of the action/reflection model of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Knowledge in fields of theology and ethics in health care and behavioral sciences
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Chaplain Research Literacy
- Masters of Divinity, Masters of Theology, or equivalent theological degree
- Successful completion of a Clinical Pastoral Education Residency (total of 4 Level I and Level II units) in a center accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
