Job Summary
The Feed Mill Worker at Albertville Feed Mill (FM01, 1st Shift) is an entry-level, non-skilled general labor position focused on maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies. Responsibilities include cleaning up feed spills, assisting with loading and unloading feed trucks, and performing duties as assigned by management (e.g., cleaning pits and scale areas). The role requires learning all positions to cover vacations and absences, participating in team efforts, and adhering to mill safety protocols. The candidate must be able to work flexible hours (rotating shifts, some weekends, holidays), stand/walk on concrete for long durations, operate or be trained to operate receiving equipment (forklifts, bobcats, tractors, pallet jacks), work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty), and lift up to 60-100 lbs with or without assistance. Other duties include general ground keeping, using landscaping equipment, high-pressure washing, and maintaining PPE. Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, such as rotating shifts, some weekends, and most holidays
- Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors 5 to 7 days per week, 8 to 10 hours a day
- Must be willing to use an 8 to 12 lb. sledgehammer
- Must be willing to climb ladders and stairs
- Must be willing to work in an elevated area
- Must also be willing to work in a dusty non-toxic environment
- Must be capable of being certified to operate receiving equipment: forklifts, bobcats, tractors, and pallet jacks
- Must wear required PPE ear protection
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines
- Able to work with or without reasonable accommodation
