Job Summary
Industrial Mechanic at Pilgrim’s Feed Mill performing troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, testing, and repair of feed mill equipment and facility. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility, operating lifts, on-call duties, and coordinating with production management to diagnose problems. Requires 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience, basic mechanical and electrical knowledge, welding/fabrication, ability to read drawings, and willingness to work overtime. Preferred knowledge includes boilers/steam systems and PLC/VFD programming; Technical school preferred; High school diploma or GED preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience
- Reading, General Math and Writing Skills
- Organized and able to multi-task
- Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements
- Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
- General knowledge of welding/fabrication
- General knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical
- Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, and weekend shifts
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willing and able to stand for several hours
- Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions with PPE
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, twisting
- Preferred Knowledge/Skills: General knowledge of boilers/steam systems; PLC and VFD familiarity; Technical school preferred; High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
