Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one literacy tutoring for K-4th grade students reading below grade level using Reading Partners' scripted, evidence-based digital curriculum via video conferencing. Track student progress through Reading Partners tools and perform routine check-ins with a team member while assisting the Program Coordinator with administrative duties. Tutor students remotely from North Texas, Detroit, Washington DC, Newark, New York, and South Carolina, with sessions recorded for safety purposes. Complete orientation and training, maintain consistent availability Monday through Thursday between 8 am and 5 pm, and commit to 10-15 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for Federal Work Study
- Reside within one of these regions (North Texas, Detroit, Washington DC, Newark, New York, and South Carolina)
- Access to reliable Wi-Fi, PC, Mac, or Chromebook computer with a functioning webcam, microphone, and headphones with a microphone for remote tutoring
- Commitment to working between 10-15 hours/week
- Availability Monday through Thursday (between 8am-5pm)
- Patience and empathy for students while holding high expectations
- Willingness and eagerness to learn and receive coaching
- Interest in interacting effectively with diverse student populations
- Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
- A Live scan Background Check
