Job Summary
Open and close the library, handling the heavy pull-down door and lock. Check in and check out library materials, shelve books, and count patrons manually since the electronic counter is broken. Answer directional questions about stacks, printers, and campus locations, then triage inquiries to librarians, the bookstore, or testing centers. Greet patrons entering the library and troubleshoot printer and computer problems. Assist with library programming, such as moving tables or setting up events. Maintain the library management system by checking for broken links and locating misplaced books.
Required Qualifications
- Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need
- Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status
- Ability to communicate with library patrons, staff, and faculty
- Able to lift 10-20 lbs. for moving books or opening/closing the security door
- Some familiarity with MS office suite for assisting library patrons
