Job Summary
Federal Work Study Gallery Assistant at Academy of Art University. You will greet visitors, provide excellent customer service, process sales using a POS system, assist with installations and de-installations of monthly exhibitions, support special events (including the annual Fine Art Faculty Auction), and help with cataloging art and merchandise sales. On-site role based at 2801 Leavenworth in San Francisco with part-time schedule (up to 20 hours/week) and eligibility governed by Federal Work Study. Requires at least one semester of classes at ArtU; strong communication, reliability, and professional demeanor are essential. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Have successfully completed at least one semester of classes at ArtU
- This position is fully on-site at 2801 Leavenworth, candidates must be able to travel to the Cannery
- Self-motivated, independent, strong communicator, and reliable
- Skilled with Microsoft Office
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- Gallery or Docent experience is preferred
