Job Summary
Federal Records Manager responsible for planning, directing, and executing records creation, maintenance, and disposition to ensure proper documentation of the Office of Classification. Develops policies and procedures for managing both classified and unclassified records, oversees an electronic documents system in compliance with DOE requirements, and coordinates with IT to improve electronic records access. Maintains and updates the Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule (RIDS) as part of DOE records management and supports the COOP plan. Requires active security clearance and on-site work at the Germantown, MD facility. 100% on-site role with local-hire conditions and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in library science, public administration, management, or related field with a concentration in records management
- One (1) year of Federal records management experience
- Detailed knowledge of Federal records management program and associated orders, regulations, and RIDS
- Active Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q clearance (required)
- Willingness to work 100% on-site at the DOE facility in Germantown, MD
- Ability to develop and implement policies/procedures for managing records
- Experience coordinating with IT to enhance electronic records systems
- Familiarity with digitizing records and maintaining filing systems for easy retrieval
- Ability to maintain and update the Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule (RIDS)
- Knowledge of Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning
- Strong documentation and organization skills

- Must live within reasonable commuting distance to Germantown, MD or be willing to relocate within reasonable proximity
