Job Summary
Lead design projects for Federal clients including the Department of Defense, US Army Corps of Engineers, Missile Defense Agency, and Navy Facilities Command by defining scope, establishing schedules, and coordinating daily activities with internal teams, vendors, and contractors. Monitor progress through key performance indicators, manage project budgets by tracking expenses and cost estimates, and prepare documentation such as progress reports, meeting minutes, and change orders. Maintain ethical decision-making regarding company funds while managing multiple priorities to meet project deadlines. Requires 10+ years of post-education experience in project management support, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, and PE or PMP certification. US citizenship is required due to client mandates.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience in engineering and design project leadership and project execution for the US government/military sector
- lead design projects on behalf of Federal clients
- Strong discipline-specific knowledge of power sector and electrical design projects
- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management support role within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 5+ years of experience managing Federal design projects for clients to include MDA, USACE, NAVFAC
- US citizenship
- PE or PMP
- Ability to work in person (not remotely) in one of WSP's offices
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and demonstrated experience with typical design/engineering software packages related to drafting, modeling, analysis, design, markup, or cost engineering
