Federal Platform Engineer

Job Summary
Deploy and maintain highly scalable, secure, resilient cloud-native application platforms on AWS across multiple federal environments, from FedRAMP to Classified workloads. Design and implement Terraform modules, Crossplane compositions, and automation tooling to enable confident, anytime deployment while collecting telemetry data for platform effectiveness. Lead improvements in development and deployment processes, manage project allocation via Jira and Agile concepts, and establish a documentation culture using Confluence and documentation-as-code. Evaluate new technologies for infrastructure provisioning and application hosting, ensuring all engineering teams consume reusable, secure infrastructure patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform engineering, or related roles
- Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and use effective judgment in prioritization and time management
- Creative, self-motivated, pragmatic, disciplined, detail and results oriented
- Excellent analytical/problem solving ability
- Strong understanding and experience with solution design and flow
- Strong technical documentation and communication
- Experience using Claude Code or other AI-enabled development tooling
- Gitlab CI/CD
- Argo Events, Argo Workflows, Argo CD
- SSO (OIDC, SAML, Okta, Social Sign-ins)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Crossplane)
- Secret Management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secret Manager, External Secrets Operator)
- Configuration Management (Ansible)
- Shell Scripting
- GoLang required
- Python a plus
- Container Engines (Docker)

- Bachelors in Computer Science or STEM or equivalent experience
- US Citizen Required
- Possess or ability to gain and maintain Top Secret security clearance required
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science a plus
- Experience in FedRAMP, CC SRG, NIST 800-53, or Authority to Operate (ATO) process
