Job Summary
Federal Contracts Manager responsible for serving as the primary contracts SME for Marki's subcontracting engagements with defense prime contractors, ensuring FAR/DFARS compliance, and supporting subcontracts and purchase orders for goods. The role involves coordinating with Legal, Sales, and Trade Compliance on contract administration, developing standard terms and conditions, maintaining contract metadata and compliance programs, and assisting with development subcontracts and lifecycle management. Requires practical knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ability to negotiate terms, and communication skills to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams. The position also covers potential growth into direct and international contracts, and familiarity with SAM.gov, PIEE/WAWF, and government contract management systems is preferred. Core competencies include contract governance, regulatory tracking, flow-down management, and collaboration within a matrix organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contracts Management, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in federal subcontracts and/or commercial defense sales contracts involving goods
- Practical working knowledge of FAR and DFARS, particularly in subcontract flow-down and procurement of commercial items (FAR Part 12)
- Ability to review and negotiate purchase orders, subcontracts, and customer terms and conditions in a commercial defense supplier environment
- Comfort working in a matrix/dual-reporting structure and collaborating daily with Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Product Marketing/Program Management, and Trade Compliance stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance
