Job Summary
Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students while assisting in the day-to-day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department. Perform clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, and organizing. Maintain a regular schedule of attendance on campus, with some evening and weekend work required to ensure it does not conflict with class schedule. Input hours worked daily and submit time sheets biweekly.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates
- Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduates students
- Have a current and complete file with the Office of Financial Aid
- Demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA application annually
- Be a U.S. citizen, or permanent residence, or have an alien registration number as an eligible non-citizen
- Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP)
- Have proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications
- Have ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Have outstanding customer service skills
- Have excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills
- Have problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Have ability to learn and use multiple software programs
- Be available for on campus, face-to-face interactions
- Maintain a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace
- Be available for some evening and weekend work
- Be able to promptly complete all required training
- Be able to input hours worked daily and submit time sheet biweekly
- Be eligible for Federal and State Work Study programs
