Job Summary
Support USDA Rural Development financial operations through accounting, reconciliations, reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for the General Ledger, FBWT, SF-224, adjusted trial balance, financial statements, and DATA Act. Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions while preparing journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules. Develop audit-ready documentation and contribute to process improvements, documentation, training, and special projects. Requires a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and four plus years of experience in government financial management.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Four (4+) plus years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, or government financial management
- Experience with General Ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and large datasets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, CGFM, CMA, CDFM, or other relevant professional certification
- Prior consulting experience supporting federal clients
- Additional years of accounting, financial management, or audit experience
- Experience with federal accounting, Treasury reporting, DATA Act reporting, FBWT, SF-224, and financial statement support
- Experience supporting USDA or other federal civilian agencies
- Experience supporting audits, internal controls, compliance reviews, and corrective action efforts
