Job Summary
The Truck Scale Operator (TSO) is responsible for weighing and grading incoming scrap loads, operating in-bound and out-bound scales, and directing customers for unloading. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, communicating material pricing, and performing scale operations accurately. The ideal TSO will possess knowledge of metals identification and grading, offer exceptional customer service, and maintain accurate documentation of purchasing transactions. This role requires the ability to handle equipment maintenance, communicate operational issues, and work independently while paying attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED Certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or scrap industry preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required
