Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations for short-term inpatient symptom management and end-of-life care on the Inpatient Unit. Manage pain and complex symptoms using evidence-based hospice practices while administering medications, treatments, and comfort-focused interventions. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and hospice aides to develop individualized plans of care, educate patients and families, and document all care accurately in the electronic medical record. Respond to changes in patient condition with clinical expertise and compassion to promote dignity and quality of life. This full-time day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) includes a 3-on/4-off schedule, weekend differential, and double-time holiday pay within a collaborative interdisciplinary team at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License (or Compact License)
- Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience
- Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Desired Qualifications
- Hospice or Palliative Care experience
- Oncology, ICU, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical experience
- CHPN Certification
- BSN
