Job Summary
Manage all banquet operations by coordinating event needs with kitchen, bar, and custodial teams to ensure proper planning, organization, and execution that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Lead, coach, and develop staff through hiring, scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and career development while ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service. Conduct pre-event meetings, inspect function rooms, and direct banquet staff during events to guarantee adherence to client requests and established standards. Monitor budgets, review financial transactions, and maintain organized records for quick reference. Ensure a clean, safe work environment by addressing hazards, enforcing safety codes, and maintaining equipment and storage facilities. Communicate professionally with customers and attend weekly meetings to support smooth event operations.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of banquet management experience, preferably in a venue with multiple events being coordinated consecutively
- Supervisory experience in the hospitality field
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- High School Diploma or GED or ten years' experience
- Budget experience with labor costs, ordering supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and abilities
- Creativity to develop an esthetic feel for each event, including physically setting up rooms, decorations, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, guest service, leadership, communication, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with arms, elbows, wrists, hands, and fingers
- Ability to bend, lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Good visual and auditory acuity
- Food Handler Certification
- OLCC card
- Permit application submitted by first day of employment
- Flexible schedule and ability to work varied hours, days, and shifts
- High-Security Gaming license clearance
- At least 21 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- ServSafe Management Certification
- Experience with Versa PMS system or similar banquet/catering management platform
- Extensive experience in a multifaceted event center with multiple events running concurrently
- Experience managing large scale conferences, weddings, tournaments, multiple day events
- Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field
