Job Summary
Provide compassionate personal care and support services under registered nurse supervision, including measuring and recording intake, output, vital signs, and weight; positioning, lifting, and turning patients; ambulating; and administering pre- and post-operative care. Perform perineal care, apply anti-embolism stockings, empty colostomy bags, and assist with feeding and specimen transport. Document all care accurately, maintain equipment and nursing units in a clean, safe manner, and adhere to DCH behavioral standards and safety protocols. Participate in performance improvement activities and ensure compliance with all health system policies.
Required Qualifications
- Approved previous experience in giving patient care
- Completion of in-service education classes required
- High school education
- BLS certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire date
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
Desired Qualifications
- Patient care experience
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program
- Prior customer service experience
