Job Summary
Farsi Linguist role supporting YSG/TU with foreign language interpretation, translation, transcription, and linguistic services across multiple requirements. Responsibilities include in-person and virtual interpretation, translating written/audio/video materials, reviewing/editing documents, and delivering foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Open evergreen requisition for future opportunities across the portfolio; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles as needs arise. Must meet CAT I/II/III proficiency, English ILR 2+ (CAT I/II) or ILR 3 (CAT III), and be U.S. citizen with required security considerations; location listed as Remote/CONUS with some travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of CAT I, CAT II, CAT III categories with specified English ILR levels
- Shall have ability to provide idiomatic translations
- Shall have ability to conduct consecutive, accurate translation and interpretation
- Shall have familiarity with local culture and customs
- Shall be willing to live and work in harsh environments
- Shall function effectively in high pressure and team settings
- Speak English and foreign language fluently with regionalisms and slang
- Interpret in a manner that is accurate without changes or omissions
- Preserve tone and register of source materials
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
