Job Summary
Senior Farsi Interpreter for TU provides oral interpretation, transcription, translation, and reporting services in support of U.S. government contracting. Serves as primary representative between the government customer and field interpreters, analyzes source conversations for accurate documentation, and conducts field operations across CONUS/OCONUS travel. Requires professional proficiency in Farsi and English, an industry-recognized certification demonstrating language proficiency (ILR 3/3/3/3), and active TOP SECRET clearance. Travel to designated CONUS and OCONUS locations is required; postings include Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA and Tampa, FL. Will perform duties such as drafting correspondence, coordinating meetings, and providing interpretation, transcription, and translation services as required. Must remain available for emergencies off hours and function as an integral team member.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience and skill in Farsi and English translating/interpreting, transcribing and documenting conversation.
- Professional working proficiency in Farsi and English.
- Must have an industry recognized certification that proves you possess the language proficiency in order to satisfactorily support the resulting contract. Must possess a 3/3/3/3 ILR Score.
- Must have experience providing consecutive interpretation services between English and Farsi native speakers.
- Must possess skills to quickly and effectively translate between Farsi /English & English/ Farsi in a large group setting while discussing one or more topics.
- Shall have the familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs.
- Shall have the ability to function as an integral member of a team.
- Prior military experience.
- Able to work for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day up to twelve (12) hours a day, five (5) days per week up to seven (7) days per week and may work on official holidays.
- Must possess a valid passport or be able to acquire a passport.
