Job Summary
Manage 10-20 urban farms in the greater LA region; design planting layouts, oversee planting calendar, cultivate a wide variety of annual vegetables, troubleshoot pest and disease issues, fertilize, soil amendment, harvest produce, repair irrigation systems. Work solo and with a field partner; maintain fruit trees and edible perennials; proactively prevent garden issues; maintain weekly service logs and client database; engage in weekly check-ins with LA Residential Farm Manager; communicate with clients; represent Farmscape professionally; comfortable driving between multiple LA locations daily; attend meetings; develop expertise and knowledge; contribute to a supportive and accountable work environment. Requires 2+ years in annual vegetable cultivation (3+ preferred), experience with fruit trees (1+ preferred), extensive edible/perennial landscape experience, proficiency with spreadsheets/Google Suite, strong communication and organizational skills, and valid driver's license. Must be able to lift 50lbs and perform physical outdoor labor; fair-chance considerations Apply per local laws.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ year experience with annual vegetable cultivation required; 3+ years preferred
- 1+ year experience with fruit tree management preferred
- Extensive experience with edibles, perennial and native landscapes
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and Google Suite apps
- Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic are required.
- Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with customers and staff
- Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
- Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance.
