Job Summary
Farm Trekkers program counselor role at Mass Audubon’s Boston Nature Center, supporting experiential nature-based learning for campers. Responsibilities include overseeing camper safety during field trips (including driving to Drumlin Farm), leading groups on nature-based activities, planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons with a team, assisting with daily setup/cleanup, ensuring a safe environment, and transporting/overseeing campers in vans on offsite trips. Training provided prior to camp start; camp runs June 22–Aug 29, 2026 (hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday). Compensation $18.30–$21.00 per hour. Requirements include 21+ years old, valid driver’s license to drive a 12-passenger van, 4 weeks of childcare experience, First Aid/CPR certifications, immunization documentation, outdoor tolerance, and strong interpersonal skills with children.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 12-passenger van
- At least 4 weeks of experience working with children
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain
- Immunization or vaccination record as mandated
- Willingness to be outdoors for several hours per day
- Ability to physically access sanctuary terrain and trails by foot
- Ability to interact effectively with children in a youth-centered environment
- Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment
