Job Summary
Farm supervisors are responsible for the general maintenance and management of the farm. Their work is mainly supervisory, and they plan and organize the activities on the farm. They should also be able to do practical work on the farm to guide and advise farm workers. On crop farms, supervisors must supervise fertilization programs and land preparation, ensure correct quantities of fertilizer and weed killer are used, and oversee processing, sorting, and packing of products. They must maintain and ensure proper operation of tractors and other farming implements, assign employees to fields while monitoring height, mower adjustments, and moisture, and manage watering systems. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. They should be able to work independently, make decisions, have a strong sense of responsibility, and take direction and apply it to job performance.
