Job Summary
Monitor farm health and perform health monitoring duties on farms, including following biosecurity and animal welfare procedures, verifying flock numbers, collecting blood and environmental samples, and cleaning/disinfecting vehicles. Works independently to meet daily and weekly goals, maintains sample integrity and data collection practices, and adheres to strict biosecurity measures (showering in/out, quarantine after contact with non-Aviagen avian species). Requires comfort with technology, able to read/write in English, and capable of communicating orally and in writing; must pass background check and drug screening. Must be authorized to work in the United States and not own or house any avian species. Aviagen emphasizes equal opportunity employment and a commitment to the poultry industry.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to communicate orally, written, and via email
- Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to accomplish daily and weekly goals
- Self-motivated with ability to perform tasks sagely and with accuracy and efficiency
- Comfortable with the use of technology
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug-screen
Additional Requirements
- Candidate cannot own or house any wild or domesticated avian species
- Must adhere to a strict 72-hour quarantine period after contact with non-Aviagen avian species
