Farm Mechanic

Job Summary
Repair and maintain a wide variety of farm equipment, including diesel and gasoline tractors, implements, rototillers, and chainsaws. Diagnose malfunctions and create solutions using tools for tasks like changing oil, tires, and fixing brakes. Ensure work areas, tools, and the machine shop remain clean, tidy, stocked, and well cared for. Safely operate large, potentially dangerous tools and equipment while supporting other farm tasks such as irrigation and field hand duties. Work within a team of bakers, salespeople, greenhouse workers, and field workers, maintaining cooperation and flexibility. Requires a U.S. driver's license, mechanical experience, and ability to perform heavy lifting.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Knowledgeable of and ability to use tools, methods, and materials used in Farm work
- Mechanical experience
- Comfortable multi-tasking, self-sufficient at problem-solving, and capable of managing a diverse set of responsibilities
- Must work as a team player, is flexible and a self-starter
- Must have a U.S. driver's license
- Must have the ability to perform heavy lifting

- A mechanical mind to assess, diagnose, and create a solution to malfunctions
- Handy with tools
- Knowledgeable about basic machinery maintenance, such as changing oil, changing tires, fixing brakes, etc.
