Job Summary
Farm Manager at Pāmu’s West Coast Dairy Support leading a small two-person team on a 560ha West Coast dairy farm near Westport. You’ll run day-to-day farming operations with hands-on leadership, make decisions that impact farm performance, and collaborate with a Business Manager and specialist support to optimize stock, pasture, animal health, milk quality, safety, and environmental outcomes. The role emphasizes leading people, setting high standards, owning processes, mentoring and supporting others on farm, and applying practical judgement to deliver sustainable farming performance. Training with tools like Farmax and FarmIQ is provided, and a modern four-bedroom home is provided along with competitive salary, health and life insurance, parental leave, and KiwiSaver matching.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a farm or leading teams
- Strong knowledge of animal health, milk quality, and effluent management
- Good communication skills and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving
