Job Summary
Farm Manager at Mayflower Organic Dairy leads day-to-day farm operations and team, driving performance in an fully organic dairy setting. You will oversee stock and pasture management, ensure animal health and milk quality, and uphold health and safety and environmental standards. You’ll work with a Business Manager and on-farm team plus wider specialist support (HR, finance, sustainability, organic compliance, health and safety) and have access to tools such as Halter, Farmax and FarmIQ to support decision-making. This fixed-term role (12 to 14 months) covers parental leave and includes accommodation (three-bedroom home). You’ll need experience managing a farm or leading teams, strong communication, and a practical, proactive leadership style. To be eligible, you must be available for an in-person interview and have unrestricted legal rights to work in New Zealand; temporary work visas cannot be considered for permanent opportunities. Required Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in organic farming
- Proven experience managing a farm or leading teams
- Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting others on farm
- Strong knowledge of animal health, milk quality, and effluent management
- A clear commitment to health and safety and animal welfare
- Good communication skills and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving
