Job Summary
Collect, handle, and transfer eggs to trays and coolers while monitoring bird houses and removing mortality as needed. Push full egg buggies into coolers, load eggs into designated areas, and return stray eggs to appropriate nests. Clean and disinfect the egg room weekly, address egg jams, and maintain biosecurity standards by following strict procedures. Assume responsibility for assigning work and meeting schedules within the group when the supervisor is absent. This day shift role requires weekend work and the ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds in varying environmental conditions. Applicants must not own or have regular contact with feathered animals.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions associated with poultry operations
- Weekend Work Required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add and subtract
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Ability to work in agricultural and poultry production environments
- Applicants cannot own or have regular contact with feathered animals, including poultry or pet birds
