Family Visitation Specialist

Job Summary
Transport youth and supervise visitation with biological families, ensuring safety during transit and supervised interactions. Monitor behaviors of all parties, redirect as needed, and intervene when safety concerns arise. Maintain documentation of visits and transportation, submitting reports within established timelines. Communicate with staff on case issues and build trust with youth and families to model parenting skills. Respond on short notice to substitute for visits or fulfill urgent transportation requests. Drive frequently using own vehicle, adhering to state safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in youth care or human services
- Minimum 21 years of age (applicable to Rhode Island only)
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job
- Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws
- Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check
- Evening and weekend work hours
- Must be able to lift car seats and children up to 50 pounds
- Must have sufficient ability to see, hear, speak, and mobility to monitor youth
- Must be a safe driver and transport youth and families in all seasons and weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of state Vehicle and Driver Safety Guidelines
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality
- Ability to build and sustain trust to facilitate successful, professional relationships
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to quickly make decisions in sensitive and sometimes critical areas and to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity
- Strong knowledge of Boys Town Model
