Job Summary
The Family Teacher (Direct Care Staff) is responsible for applying knowledge and training to recommend and execute individualized treatment for residents using the Family Teaching Model. This includes conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing daily teaching to enhance social, academic, emotional, and independent living skills. The position requires accompanying residents to appointments, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Commitment to fostering positive changes in youth aged 11 to 22 is essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships and advocate for the best interests of each child. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in social sciences, education or related field from accredited institution preferred
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children
- Valid SC driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age
