Family Support Worker

Job Summary
Provide day-to-day support to on-site program participants, including emotional assistance, conflict resolution, and connecting clients with external resources. Balance conflicting priorities to manage a client caseload, ensure project completion, and meet critical deadlines while maintaining confidentiality. Respond to unexpected emergencies and changes in workload, and participate in scheduled staff meetings, working groups, and client care sessions. Maintain a professional image when communicating with diverse backgrounds, including those with physical disabilities, mental illness, or language barriers. This maternity leave coverage role requires flexibility and the ability to work long hours, with a valid driver's license and clean criminal record check.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of related experience in a social services field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Sound judgement
- Decision-making skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office programs
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong database skills
- Non-violent conflict resolution training
- Equivalent experience to non-violent conflict resolution training
- Knowledge of shíshálh culture and community members
- Valid driver's license
- Clean Criminal Record Check
