Family Support Worker (GLFS)

Job Summary
Provide one-on-one skill teaching and coaching to parents and caregivers, and mentor families by acting as a bridge to community resources, services, and support networks. Supervise parenting time (visitation) and, when needed, facilitate drug testing as part of family support plans. Transport children to supervised visits (GLFS provides car seats). Maintain autonomy with a flexible schedule while meeting assigned case hours. Participate in 40+ hours of paid initial training (including job shadows and supervisor support) and ongoing professional development; collaborate in weekly meetings and trainings. Begin employment on a part-time basis with potential to scaffold to consistent full-time work based on performance and agency needs. Required travel for client-related activities and program duties; mileage reimbursement provided.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience supporting or mentoring others (paid, volunteer, or lived experience)
- A degree in human services is valued but not required
- Reliable personal vehicle for frequent travel (GLFS provides car seats as needed)
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and Insurance
- Background checks will be required
