Job Summary
Provide appropriate modeling techniques, education, and supportive services to at-risk families to aid in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Assist in developing client records, entering data into software systems, and conducting home visits to monitor quality of care. Directly transport clients to appointments and facilitate educational classes on parenting and behavior management. Support case managers with assessments, referrals, and linkages while supervising children during scheduled visits. Participate in weekly staff meetings, departmental training, and quality management processes. Handle emergencies and stressful situations while preserving confidentiality and professional boundaries. Perform other duties as assigned and demonstrate the CHS Common Bond Values in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of experience working with children and families
- Ability to make home visits
- Ability to travel
- Ability to perform at a high level of autonomy, with general supervision
- Ability to act decisively when necessary to protect client
- Ability to establish trusting relationships
- Ability to handle emergencies and potentially life-threatening situations
- Ability to observe and report the functioning of individuals and families
- Ability to effectively provide customer service satisfaction with positive service delivery results
- Ability to perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse, sometimes ambiguous environments
- Ability to handle stressful, sensitive situations; preserve confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Ability to meet critical deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy and quality
- Ability to solve practical problems and document results using sound judgment
