Job Summary
Coordinate transportation for children under Child Protective Services, including relocation to foster homes, physician visits, and supervised parental visits. Supervise visitations as directed by Family Care Managers, monitor time, and document observations. Provide supervision of children in the play area while parents meet with staff and establish positive relationships with families. De-escalate problematic behaviors safely and report incidents within one hour. Work afternoon shifts Tuesday through Saturday from 12:30p to 9:00p.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Proof of automobile insurance limits ($100,000/$300,000)
- Ability to safely operate any type of motor vehicle
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 20 pounds
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, stoop, bend, and/or kneel during an 8-12-hour day
- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional procedures
- Ability to write concise reports within 24 hours of event or as required by the program
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and take appropriate actions
- Ability to work in a highly visible position
- Use effective interpersonal communication skills to respond to children and their families, and legal entities (i.e., judges, law enforcement, CLS etc.)
- Demonstrates ability to de-escalate problematic behaviors safely while driving or providing supervision
- Report all concerning behaviors or incidents within one hour to the supervisor
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children and families served
- Demonstrates commitment to improve quality and safety through training, education, communication, collaboration, innovation, and execution
- Must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in providing social services, child development, family services, or working in a childcare setting
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in social services or a related field
