Job Summary
The Family Support Specialist (FSS) provides leadership and technical assistance to develop and implement BHHO family support services for youth and families. The role requires leveraging personal lived experience in parenting to navigate child-serving systems (behavioral health, child welfare, special education, juvenile justice) on behalf of a child/youth. The position emphasizes sharing experiences with families, co-workers, and community providers, while working within 30 miles of home, with mileage reimbursement and a flexible schedule. Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, Parent/Family Peer certification or provisional, 18+ years old, basic computer skills, and valid Maine driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
