Job Summary
Family Support Specialist provides outreach, eligibility validation, enrollment coordination, and participant tracking for center-based Early Childhood services. Responsibilities include recruiting families, completing essential documentation to validate eligibility, coordinating placement of eligible children (center or home-based), building trusting relationships with clients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to extend support services, monitoring attendance and participation, and reporting absences for center-based programs. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, a Gateways Level 5 Family Specialist Credential or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle; duties include evening/weekend recruitment events and in-person/virtual outreach. Location is Center Based in Chicago, IL. The compensation range is hourly with benefits including health insurance, PTO, holidays, retirement match, and PSLF eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family and Consumer Science, Family Studies or Counseling
- Gateways Level 5 Family Specialist Credential or equivalent Family Development Credential
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with culturally diverse families preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of normal child growth/development and parent-child relationships preferred
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish required
