Job Summary
Family Support Partner (FSP) position with Allegheny Family Network to provide in-home and community-based support to families raising children with behavioral health needs. The FSP uses lived experience as a parent of a child with mental health and/or emotional challenges to help families identify needs, access resources, promote self-advocacy, and navigate child-serving systems. Responsibilities include coordinating home visits, documenting services, connecting families with peer groups and community resources, facilitating problem-solving with providers, assisting with court-related preparation when needed, and supporting families in developing skills to advocate for their child. Requires certification/credentialing in a relevant area, travel within the region, and ability to work independently or with a team. The role emphasizes culturally competent services, strong communication, and collaboration with supervisors and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for families. The position is full-time, located in Pittsburgh, PA, with a salary around $44,000 annually, and includes benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Direct experience raising a child with mental health or emotional challenges is required
- Experience working with families and communities on behalf of children with mental health issues is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the mental health system and child-serving systems in the relevant area
- Certification or credentialing in a field that benefits AFN families and supports staff work with families
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Publisher)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple duties
- Familiarity with local community resources for children
- Negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner
- Training for certification/credentialing (provided)
