Job Summary
Remote-from-home Family Support Navigator role within New Mexico, traveling across NM to meet families in the community. Provides non-clinical, evidence-based peer support to families/caregivers of children with mental health and substance-use needs; guides families in creating WRAP wellness plans; utilizes the 8 dimensions of wellness to address social determinants of health; advocates for family involvement in treatment decisions; documents interactions per company standards; requires peer specialist certification and a parent/caregiver background; must have a reliable vehicle for community travel; extensive collaboration with Magellan care coordination team; fluency in resiliency, recovery principles, and community resources; travel-to-community visits are a regular expectation.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience working as a family peer specialist
- Peer Specialist certification as required by the state
- CFPS/National Peer Support Credential required within one year of hire
- Must be or have been a parent or caregiver of a child who is or who has in the past received services from a child-serving agency for mental health related issues
- Must have a vehicle in good, working condition with the ability to travel within the community regularly
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Product Suite
- Ability to summarize and document findings and maintain complete and accurate records
- Ability to represent strengths and needs of families and members in clinical settings
