Job Summary
Monitor patients hourly, enter status findings into the EHR, and observe the milieu including bathrooms and group rooms to ensure safety. Maintain therapeutic boundaries by setting limits, perform room inspections and bag searches when directed, and complete facility checks paying special attention to alarms and locks. Welcome families, conduct thorough orientations, model appropriate parenting techniques, and provide informational resources about the surrounding area. Manage admission and discharge documentation, maintain required logs including visitor and chore sheets, and complete incident or environmental reports as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant work and/or life experience
- TB Screening
- CPR Certification
- HPAO crisis de-escalation program
- Confidentiality training (42 CFR, Part 2 and 45 CFR parts 160 & 164 HIPAA)
- Therapeutic Boundaries Training
- Ability to care for diverse populations
- Incident Report Training
- All Hazards Training
- Infection Control Training
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Compliance with Federal Regulations regarding 42 CFR Part 2; Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations
- Understanding of emergency procedures and codes and remain calm in a crisis
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries by setting limits and enforcing rules in a respectful manner
- Perform room inspections per policy and bag searches when directed
- Attends Supervision with assigned supervisor twice monthly and/or as needed based on status or concerns and attend mandatory meetings
- Maintain logs which include, but are not limited to: sign out book, visitor book, chore sheet, FSA shift checklist & drill roster
- Complete Incident/Environmental Report forms when required
- Have thorough knowledge of 51A filing of child abuse and neglect in accordance with company policy
- Welcomes families and conduct thorough orientation upon arrival
- Maintain strong rapport and open communication with participants
- Responsible for all admission/discharge documentation, if applicable
- Provide family with informational resources about surrounding area
- Complete a minimum of three facility checks during your shift, paying special attention to alarms and locks
- Model appropriate parenting techniques for all families
- Relieve co-workers on time and never leave the facility unattended
- Assist with preparing a vacated room/unit for a new family arriving
- Assist with program cleaning as needed.
