Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized Family Stability Plans for families in a 12-month transitional housing program. Provide ongoing therapeutic interventions using trauma-informed, strength-based, and motivational interviewing approaches to address barriers related to mental health, substance use, and parenting stress. Support families in developing skills for permanent housing, including budgeting, tenant rights, and employment readiness, while facilitating crisis intervention and advocacy with landlords, schools, and healthcare providers. Collaborate on multidisciplinary case consultations, coordinate services with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation in electronic databases. Track outcomes to inform service planning and represent the organization at community meetings and partnership collaborations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with vulnerable families, individuals experiencing homelessness, or similar populations.
- Experience providing direct interventions, counseling, family support, or behavioral health services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and strength-based practices.
- Experience developing service plans and facilitating behavior change with participants.
- Schedule: 40 hours with evenings and/or one weekend day required (10:00am to 6:30pm or 10:30am to 7:00pm)
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed or licensed-eligible (ASW, AMFT, APCC, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent).
- Experience in transitional housing, supportive housing, family homelessness, child welfare, behavioral health, or community mental health settings.
- Familiarity with Bay Area housing and social service systems.
- Bilingual abilities, especially Spanish.
- Experience with Salesforce, HMIS, or other case management databases.
