Job Summary
Conduct emotionally and developmentally based assessments, case management, and group discussions to promote coping skills and psychosocial growth for children and families in the Broward Children's Service Council program. Create individualized service plans, institute behavioral strategies, and provide crisis intervention for housing, medical, and substance use needs. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including chart abstractions and quality assurance reviews, while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and contractual requirements. Review referrals, initiate timely communication with families, and educate the interdisciplinary team on available services and resources.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of and an ability to use various computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheet, calendar and email
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to complete thorough psychosocial assessments and other evaluations
- Ability to relate to children and families in supportive and therapeutic ways
- Ability to effectively assess and create effective treatment plans
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, developmental, social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the clients served
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- HIV and HIPAA Course
- CPR and First Aid
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Flexibility of working hours will be required to meet the child and family's needs which include evening (2-3 per week) and weekend hours as needed
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
