Job Summary
Supervise lower-level staff administering SNAP, Childcare, and ABD medical services while enforcing agency policies and procedures. Review and respond to inquiries regarding application requirements, due dates, and filing processes for social safety net programs. Coordinate with units to clarify policies, determine application status, resolve processing problems, and route requests appropriately. Enter and retrieve system information, review customer verification documents, proofread data entries, and make routine corrections. Participate in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to establish pathways for client self-sufficiency. Complete required training, meetings, and conferences as directed. This leadership role supports Oklahoma Department of Human Services clients in Lawton, with an initial 120-day in-person training period before potential telework approval.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree and one (1) year of qualifying experience
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in professional social work
- Equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) year of experience in professional social work for each year of the bachelor's degree
- Four (4) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist
- Valid driver's license
- Required car insurance
- Leadership-level position where the employee provides direct supervision to lower-level staff
- Supervise, and administer policy and procedure to a team of professional Family Services Specialists
- Review and respond to requests for information and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures surrounding social safety net programs
- Provide responses to inquiries concerning applications and review filing requirements, due dates, and similar information
- Coordinates with other staff or units as needed to clarify policies and procedures
- Determine the status of individual applications
- Review and resolve problems
- Route requests to appropriate staff and units for processing
- Scan and upload customer verifications
- Enter and retrieve information into the system
- Receive and review documents including customer verification
- Proofread previously entered data and make routine corrections
- Participate in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Attend all training, meetings, and conferences as directed
