Job Summary
Family Services Specialist who assists families in crisis through DCFS programs, providing services to help families comply with court-ordered participation and support in transportation for visits, home-based teaching of homemaking and parenting skills, anger management, and utilization of resources. Responsibilities include supervising visits, preparing written reports and progress updates, locating housing and community supports for independent living, attending mandated trainings, and documenting service delivery. Requires high school diploma or GED (or an associate degree) and at least 21 years old; driver’s license and auto insurance are required. Benefits include medical, retirement, PTO, and holiday pay. Travel for visits can be extensive.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience in social work, child care, or working with families is preferred
- Must have a dependable automobile, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass required background checks
