Job Summary
Family Services Specialist is a district role focused on connecting families with district and community resources to support student success and emotional well-being. Responsibilities include providing information and referral services, facilitating access to community programs, connecting families with district services, translating/interpretation services when needed, and supporting families through navigation of the school system. The role may involve home visits, collaboration with school staff, and development of family support plans for students qualifying for McKinney-Vento and foster care services. Strong communication, crisis-intervention, advocacy, and data-maintenance skills are required, along with knowledge of confidentiality and equity considerations. The position reports to the Supervisor of Family and Community Engagement and is a full-time, 192-day assignment in Bellevue, WA; visa sponsorship is not available.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent
- Minimum of two years working with families and children in a community organization
