Job Summary
The Family Services Counselor supervises and ensures the safety of children in groups such as Kids Zone, Club Y, and Summer Camp. The role includes planning and implementing programs, maintaining attendance records, and effectively communicating with parents. Candidates must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, be at least 17 years old, and preferably have childcare experience. Strong communication skills, creative abilities, and the capability to engage children are essential. First Aid/CPR certification must be acquired within 90 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of one year working with children or childcare experience
- First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment
- Enjoys working outdoors with children
- Ability to keep children engaged and under control
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish, or English and Creole)
- Creative ability and nature when implementing programs
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Additional Requirements
- As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening.
- All new hires must successfully complete a drug test. Medical Marijuana cards do not exempt you from successfully passing your drug test.
