Job Summary
The Family Services Counselor ensures the safety and supervision of children in programs like Kids Zone and Summer Camp. Responsibilities include planning and implementing activities, maintaining daily attendance, communicating effectively with parents, and participating in aquatic activities. Candidates should have strong communication skills, creativity, and a passion for working with children, along with at least one year of childcare experience. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and applicants must be at least 17 years old.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of one year working with children or childcare experience, preferred
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Prior experience working with children ages 6 months through age 15
- Must enjoy interacting and communicating with children and parents
- Must possess creative ability and nature when implementing program
- Ability to keep children engaged and under control
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish, or English and Creole)
Additional Requirements
- As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening
- All new hires must successfully complete a drug test. Medical Marijuana cards do not exempt you from successfully passing your drug test.
