Job Summary
Family Service Advocate responsibilities include case management and family engagement, coordinating community resources, supporting service delivery, monitoring and reporting, and applying best practices in working with families. The role involves processing eligibility applications per agency procedures; coordinating recruitment to ensure wait-list availability; forming and maintaining relationships with families and outside agencies for enrollment, orientations, screenings, and child assessments; providing resources and referrals; documenting interactions in the agency data system; and collaborating with outside agencies to facilitate services for enrolled and wait-listed families. Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a Social Services related field, strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, and ability to travel locally.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Social Services related field
- Positive, motivating and energetic personality
- Professionalism and can be flexible in a changing environment
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, database, internet and e-mail
- Must be able to effectively operate a motor vehicle, as local travel is required
- Able to work with minimal supervision, including balance and prioritizing work load
- Regular repetitive motion with hands, computer keyboarding, phone
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients in crisis
