Job Summary
Coordinate with Property Management, leasing, and resident services to recruit participants for the HUD-funded Family Self-Sufficiency Program. Conduct intake appointments to assess eligibility and needs, then develop Individual Training and Services Plans outlining employment, education, and financial counseling goals. Provide ongoing financial coaching on budgeting, savings, and credit while maintaining regular meetings to track progress toward self-sufficiency milestones. Engage residents through on-site outreach, workshops, and events to build program awareness. Document participant progress in Connect360 and communicate income or household changes to Leasing and Compliance for accurate escrow calculations. Collaborate with the Economic Mobility Department to integrate services into broader resident operations. Support general resident services, including event planning and surveys, while maintaining accurate records and following up on external referrals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in resident services, case management, financial coaching, or economic mobility services
- Ability to work effectively with diverse resident population on sensitive financial and personal goals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation accuracy
- Ability to collaborate across teams based onsite and at Headquarters
- Ability to develop service or action plans based on documented individual or community needs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, Personal Finance, Financial Planning, or Financial Coaching
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or comparable financial coaching certification, or willingness to obtain certification promptly after beginning employment. Maintain accreditation on an ongoing basis
- Demonstrated success in partner management, including building and maintaining relationships with external service providers
- Experience connecting individuals from diverse populations to multiple community resources
- Experience serving populations such as low-income households, individuals with mental health or substance use challenges, survivors of domestic violence, youth, immigrants, English Language Learners, or individuals at risk of homelessness
